Chriss Street spent many years in Corporate America as an Investment Banker, Money Manager and CEO of two NYSE listed corporations. His specialty was corporate turnarounds, and the restructuring of distressed or bankrupt companies. At 55 years old, he had accumulated over 9 million frequent flier miles, survived a brain tumor and retired. He loved retirement, but two months later he was bored. Really, really bored! Coupling his skills in people and money management with the love of competition, the next logical and exciting step was politics. He run for the Office of the Treasurer of Orange County, California, and applied his accumulated skills and life experiences to the public-sector and made a positive difference to the people in his community. Street applied his vision of a Third Way Strategy to improved government effectiveness. His promise was to(1) replace Conflict and Confrontation with the Leadership and Cooperation(2) drive down costs and (3) increase customer service. After serving a four year term as the elected Treasurer of Orange County, California, he successfully cut his Department s costs by 35% and won the 2008 National Association of Counties Annual Innovation Award.
